Ackee and Saltfish, Jamaica’s national dish. It marries a preserved North Atlantic fish and a colorful West African fruit. The ingredients’ subsequent union in the kitchens and restaurants of Jamaica was a direct result of the triangular slave trade between Britain, West Africa and its Caribbean colonies in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Makes for a nutritious delicious breakfast.

“I used the scotch bonnet sauce once now we’re hooked. It makes every dish better. My friends forced me to buy some for them as well. The Haitian community approves :)”
